Surviving the Holidays
A Holiday Coping & Support Group
The holidays don't always feel like the most wonderful time of the year.
For many people, the holiday season brings complicated relationships, grief, difficult memories, expectations, loneliness, or simply too much of everything.
Surviving the Holidays is a supportive space to prepare for the season, connect with others who understand, and create a plan for getting through the holidays in a way that takes care of you.
The Holidays Can Be Complicated
The holidays can bring a lot of expectations about how we're supposed to feel, who we're supposed to spend time with, and what this time of year is supposed to look like.
But real life can include grief, trauma, family conflict, difficult relationships, loneliness, financial stress, sensory overload, complicated traditions, or memories we'd rather not revisit.
You don't have to pretend it's magical when it isn't.
Surviving the Holidays is about making space for what's real—and figuring out what you need to get through the season.
What We'll Explore
A 5 week group
EXPECTATIONS & PRESSURE
Letting go of what the holidays are “supposed” to look like and deciding what actually works for you.
BOUNDARIES
Making decisions about where you go, who you spend time with, what you participate in, and when you've had enough.
TRIGGERS & DIFFICULT EMOTIONS
Identifying what may be especially hard this season and planning ways to take care of yourself when it happens.
FAMILY & RELATIONSHIPS
Navigating complicated dynamics, uncomfortable conversations, and the people who know exactly which buttons to push.
GRIEF & LOSS
Making room for the people, relationships, traditions, or versions of the holidays that aren't here anymore.
YOUR HOLIDAY COPING PLAN
Creating a realistic, individualized plan for getting through the season—including support, coping strategies, boundaries, and exit plans.
You Get to Decide What the Holidays Look Like
You are allowed to do the holidays differently.
You can say no. You can leave early. You can change traditions. You can create new ones. You can spend time with chosen family. You can protect your energy. You can make room for grief and still find moments that feel good.
There isn't one right way to get through the holidays.
The goal isn't a perfect holiday. It's one you can live through with a little more support and a little more choice.
What to Expect
This is a supportive, trauma-informed group focused on practical coping, connection, and preparing for the challenges the holiday season can bring.
We'll use discussion, reflection, journaling, and practical exercises to help you identify what you need and build your own holiday coping plan.
You choose how you participate. You are welcome to talk, write, reflect, or simply listen. You never have to share more than you want to.

You Don't Have to Just Get Through It Alone
The holidays may still be complicated.
Your family may still be your family.
The grief may still be there.
The memories don't magically disappear.
But you can go into the season with a plan, some support, and more choices about how you take care of yourself.
Let's make a plan for getting you through the holidays.
