Meet our Interns!

We are so lucky to be welcoming two Mental Health Counseling interns from Mount Olive University this year! They are passionate, excited, and ready to work with you!

Interns work with close supervision under Becky Hellwig, LCSW. This means that sessions with them may entail: Becky sitting in, participating in parts or the majority of the session, consultation with Becky regarding your case, and with your consent video recordings for Becky to review remotely. Student interns are not yet licensed clinicians, and are unable to bill insurances.

Sessions with our counseling interns are available for a rate of $20 per session.

Meet Alli Willoughby

Seeking help can feel very overwhelming, and I’m here to help you figure out where to start.

Hi, I’m Alli! I’m a counseling intern currently working towards licensure in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

I am passionate about the idea that everyone can work towards meaningful change and build a life they thoroughly enjoy. Struggling with mental health challenges can interrupt every aspect of your life, and I hope to help you navigate this journey.

I strive to create a cozy, positive environment without judgement that allows you to feel comfortable to share your story and process the difficult moments.

My approach to counseling is warm, genuine, and compassionate. Through an eclectic approach, I choose techniques that work best for the needs of each individual person.

As I continue to learn in the field, I am open to working with a wide range of clients, and am a strong ally to the LGBTQIA+ community. If this sounds like a good fit, don’t hesitate to reach out!

Meet Lindsey Bryant

Lindsey Bryant is a graduate level counseling intern and Master’s student in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She brings a reflective, relational, and meaning centered approach to therapy, grounded in the belief that people heal through being deeply witnessed, understood in context, and supported as they reclaim authorship of their own lives.

Lindsey is especially drawn to the places where identity, family history, grief, creativity, and self understanding meet. She values therapy as a collaborative space where clients can explore their inner world, relational patterns, formative experiences, and emerging sense of self with honesty, curiosity, and care.

Lindsey is also completing training through the Certified Therapeutic Game Master Program, which explores how tabletop role playing games can be used with intention, consent, creativity, and care.

Lindsey is interested in working with adolescents, adults, LGBTQIA+ clients, creatives, and individuals navigating identity exploration, relational wounds, life transitions, grief, anxiety, depression, trauma, and questions of belonging.

Her therapeutic approach is relational, humanistic, narrative, and existential, with attention to the ways personal stories are shaped by relationships, systems, culture, memory, and meaning. She values a therapy process that is collaborative, affirming, and paced with care.

Beginning therapy can be an act of courage, curiosity, and self recognition. Lindsey welcomes clients who are seeking a thoughtful, affirming therapist in training and who are ready to explore their experiences with depth, care, and openness.

If you’re interested in scheduling with Alli or Lindsey, don’t hesitate to reach out!
