Hi, I’m Becky Hellwig, LCSW, LCAS
My work is grounded in the understanding that lasting change requires more than insight alone.
I specialize in working with complex trauma, dissociation, and patterns that haven’t shifted with traditional approaches. This includes integrating trauma processing, somatic interventions, and skills-based support in a way that is both structured and adaptable.
The goal is to create a space where you can engage in meaningful work—at a pace that supports both safety and forward movement.
Training and Background
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS), licensed in North Carolina, Maine, Michigan, Vermont and Florida.
I received my MSW from Michigan State University. Additionally, I hold a certificate in Sex Therapy from the University of Michigan, a certificate in Vocational Rehabilitation from Utah State University, and a Certificate of Complex Trauma and Dissociation from ISSTD. I am Foundationally Trained in DBT, from B-Tech and participate in a weekly DBT consultation team.
My training includes advanced work in trauma, dissociation, EMDR, and somatic approaches. I have completed specialized training in complex trauma and continue to pursue ongoing education in this area.
Who I work best with:
Individuals who are ready to approach this work with intention
Trauma Friendly
I know you may come with your own trauma history and experiences, and that trust takes time to build.
You never have to share before you’re ready. YOU are always in control of the session. We move at your pace!
Deep Work
Often times my clients have been in therapy before, and are looking for something deeper, more structured, or more effective.
This may be a good fit if you’re wanting more than just understanding the “why” but the how to change it.
What it’s like to work with me:
My approach is direct, grounded, and collaborative.
I aim to create a space that feels both supportive and structured—where you are neither pushed too quickly nor left feeling stuck.
This work is intentional, and we move at a pace that allows for both depth and stability.
